When I started to get into decorating many years ago I really had no idea what I was doing or what kind of decorating appealed to me, that is until I discovered “country decor”. On that day, I found my happy place and I thrive when I am able to put all else aside and make a new wreath, centerpiece, or grouping, decorate a staircase or mantel, rearrange a shelf, decorate a room, and/or change out Seasonal decor…yep, I absolutely delight in doing all of those things and more. I love it!! As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t have any formal decorating training, I just do what I think looks pleasing to my eye, and humbly, I’ve found that what I do is actually pleasing to others eyes, hence this Blog. I am a crafter, again with no “formal” training, but, I sure have had a lot of practice. I’ve always been a rather frugal person, so I have figured out that “diy” projects are a lot more cost effective than purchasing. Shoot, I see ready made wreaths in my local craft stores and am forever saying, I could make that thing for 1/2 the cost and make it twice as big. <Sigh>
Anyway, I hope that you have a good time perusing around my Blog; I hope that one of my projects inspires you to try to make yourself something and to have confidence in yourself to create something new and different. You *can* do it…all you need to do is try! 🙂 If you have any questions, I’ll do my best to try to answer any and all, just leave them in the comments section.
My hubby and I live in our new retirement home…for more on that subject, you can check out my “Home Tour” tab. We both work diligently at making this house a home. 🙂
I will post some “before and after” pictures below to show you some of the things that I’ve created and or transformed.

What holds your pip garland to your staircase railing?
Hi Valerie, we use tie wraps (that blend in with the color of the railing). 🙂
